Gaika was a 3 year old female orca who lived at the Center for Adaptation of Marine Mammals in Russia. She was captured in Russia in August 2018.
Gaika was among 12 orcas illegally captured in Russia in 2018. Because of this, she was being kept at the Center until the investigation into the captures concluded. Little is known about Gaika. She was released on August 6, 2019 along with Tihon and Zoya. The three seem to have stayed together after release.
