  • 1/7/22-China Cetacean Alliance has confirmed that Cookie did give birth last year. A recent aerial picture of the park shows the four adult whales in the backstage tanks, while a much smaller calf is in the medical pool. The calf was born on September 10th. The park has not yet confirmed the birth.
  • 1/11/22-Suma Aqualife Park's opening date has been pushed back to Spring of 2024. They have released new concept art of the orca exhibit showing a slightly different design as well as an underwater viewing area where guests will be able to dine by the whales.
  • 3/3/22-The USDA has announced they will only grant The Dolphin Company, the purchaser of Miami Seaquarium, their license to operate the aquarium under the condition that Lolita/Tokitae no longer performs and the whale stadium is shut down after inspections of the tank showed it to be in poor condition. This also applies to the Pacific White-Sided Dolphins.
  • 6/1/22-Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park has officially announced the birth of Cookie's calf. They confirmed the calf is a male and that Panghu is the father. They are holding a naming contest.
  • 8/5/22-SeaWorld San Diego announced that Nakai sadly passed away last night after battling an infection. Rest in peace Nakai.
  • 8/29/22-Cookie's calf, a male, has been named Pàngdòudīng.
  • 8/29/22-According to China Cetacean Alliance, two orca calves may have been born at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. It has been rumored that a calf may have been born in October 2019. There is also unconfirmed information that a calf may have also been born between January 2021 and February 2022.
  • 9/16/22-Loro Parque had announced that Kohana passed away after attempting to treat her for an ongoing illness. Rest in peace Kohana.
